HSMSHS Eaten

Just a quick post tonight to show off my HSMSHS prompt of the day! The word is 'eaten' and our cute little Mood Beam toy has definitely been eaten by Mixie! Poor little guy.
OK friends, it's been a long day, and I'm beat so I'm off to the couch to do a whole lotta nothing!
Thanks for stopping by,

I Love Handmade!

I really do love buying handmade! Here's a little taste of some of the handmade stuff I've bought recently!

My engagement ring is my all-time favorite Etsy purchase!

I got it from a shop called Art Wear By Caron. Caron is an extremely talented artisan. She makes beautiful jewelry out of sterling silver and precious gemstones. Caron made this ring for us completely from scratch. She sent a bunch of really detailed pictures of stones she had available, and using her wisdom, and designs I'd seen in her shop Kyle and I decided on this aquamarine and twisted band design.
She let me know that one of the days she worked on it was also her wedding anniversary. She said she's been married for many years, so hopefully a bit of that good karma transferred into my ring!
Caron is awesome! Her kind nature and great service is one of the biggest reasons I love buying handmade!

Another of my favorite Etsy purchases is this adorable, geeky key chain!
I had my eye on this beauty for MONTHS... and the day I bought it was the happiest day of my life! (ok so not really the happiest, but I was pretty stoked) In case you can't tell, this is a drawing of Iron Man: Tony Stark (with arc reactor), and Batman: Bruce Wayne (with schnazzy tuxedo). The shop I got this from is called Savage Lucy . Her shop is filled with really crazy psycho-billy type crafts. I love her Zombie Pin-Up art, and custom painted Munnys. You really need to go see them for yourself!
The Savage Lucy shop is eclectic and crazy... I could never find stuff this awesome in a regular 'ol store... and that's why I love buying handmade!

And last but not least is my dog and cat collar obsession! That's right friends, I'm talking about Lucky Fiona!! As you can see, I've bought lots of collars for the fur children from this shop.
Shannon, creator and self proclaimed 'Head Bitch' of Lucky Fiona is really creative, knowledgeable, and helpful! She also has a blog that you HAVE to check out. She posts almost daily... I love reading all her extremely touching and funny stories about all of her Setters and kitties.
I love buying these handmade collars because it is so obvious that Shannon has passion for what she does. I'm happy I can help her out!

And because they're too cute right now... here's a pic of Mixie and Dottie I just took!

You stay classy!

Photo Challenge Returns!

So I thought that as long as I'm in the process of getting my Blog back up and running, I'd also re-start playing along with Her Space My Space His Space. Today's photo prompt is 'pages'.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with this photo challenge, all you do is check the site every day for the prompt, take a picture, post it on your blog or flickr or whatever, and show that you're playing along with a link in the comments section. It's addictive!

I took a picture of my very favorite recipe journal. One of my next blog posts will be a super-secret recipe from my journal... stay tuned for some yummy eats!

Green Meanies ArtFire Fusion Studio

I'm really excited about the new ArtFire Fusion Studios! I've always felt that ArtFire is a really awesome venue to sell my stuff, and now with all of this new freedom, it's even better.

I made a new banner that is also on my etsy shop and I couldn't find a font that I really thought showed my style. So what did I do? Used a bunch of fonts, of course!

ArtFire even lets you add widgets to your studio. I've only added the Twitter one so far, but I plan on adding a few more, like a link to this blog, and one for the Central CA Etsy Team blog.

I highly recommend that you give ArtFire a shot! (Click here for more info) You can make a Fusion Studio with either a free or verified account. Since ArtFire is still young, they're having a $12/month deal on Verified accounts. I got mine way back when the deal was $7/month but I think $12 is still a steal. Oh, and that price will be yours for life!

They also have a thing called "Free Ride". If you are able to refer I think it's 12 other people to ArtFire, then you get a FREE studio for life!! So.... if you decide to open a studio because of me... tell them Green Meanies sent you! ;)

Hope you like my new design! Let me know what you think!!!

Later Skaters!
